After the success of last year’s Easter Monday Ride Out, Birtoni Scooters in Barrack Street, Colchester is organising another one, this time to coincide with Merc Clothing’s open day on Easter Monday, 5th April.
Merc Clothing, which opened its doors at 36 Eld Lane in Colchester last year, is world famous for its classic British clothing from button down shirts to Harringtons, Merc has prided itself on developing classic designs that always stay true to its roots.
The Merc open day is from 10am – 4pm on Easter Monday and there’ll be music from 1:30pm via Colchester band The 633, and ex FuzzFace front man Ady Johnson. Merc store manager Perry Haralambous and his staff will also be providing free hot beverages, free giveaways, and 10% off all stock throughout the day.
Something For The Weekend Sir?, the traditional barbers on Scheregate Steps, will be providing classic haircuts with profits from each one going to charity.
The planned Scooter Ride Out starts with a meet at McDonalds on Cowdray Avenue, Colchester at 9.00am, departing at 9.30am to ride out to Manningtree; to the Crown Public House on the front to meet up with the Ipswich/Suffolk scooterists.
From Manningtree, the ride out will take the back road to Harwich, bypassing Harwich, riding past Great Oakley, Thorpe-le-Soken, and lower Kirby, straight to Walton on the Naze for a planned stop, refreshments, and a meet with the Clacton Scooterists.
From here the next stop is Colchester, riding down Colchester High Street, turning right at the bottom into St Nicholas Street (where Jacks is), straight ahead along Long Wyre Street, then right into Eld Lane (a pedestrian area, please ride carefully), parking in Eld Lane outside Merc Clothing at 1pm.
