Merc at the Carnaby Catwalk!
The Carnaby Catwalk is an exciting and unique event that brings together the stores of Carnaby and collaborates their collections.
Saturday 10th September saw Carnaby Street transform into an open air catwalk; this free event showcased fashion talent and exclusive fashions from boutiques and shops to be found across the 13 streets of Carnaby. Garments were handpicked from the latest Autumn/Winter collections and styled by Nova Dando, Sarah Owen, Kim Nolan, Hayley Nunn, John William and Emma Freemantle into a series of eccentric and inspired looks.
Carnaby Street is steeped in strong and cultural fashion history and over the years has seen and inspired so many styles, tribes and sub cultures that this event could only happen here - and we were very proud to be a part of it.
The first look features Merc's classic Hemmingway jacket, a core Merc style worn unconventionally over the shoulders - another great verstile men's style that suits the girls! The second and third looks feature a cravat and tie from Merc, great
accessories also worn in an alternative way.
The stylists got creative and layered Mercs plaid Mack shirt with the
Julian striped shirt, proving that mens clothing doesn't always have to be worn by men, nor worn in a conventional mannor! A Merc cravat accessorises a casual slack look and the blue check
Island shirt from Merc is worn around the waist.
For all of those who attended the Carnaby Catwalk we hope you had a great day... All those who missed out catch the best catwalk clips in the Carnaby Catwalk video
