Don’t know what to wear to woo your date this Valentine’s Day? We’ve got it covered.
Whether it’s a first date, that crucial follow up second, or you've been together forever, looking good will not only boost your own confidence but it'll make your partner feel special that you made the effort to dress up too.
Encourage some close contact with touchy-feely
knits - our jumpers are totally strokable whilst our cardigans are also incredibly tactile. Wear with chinos like
Merc’s Dale style and layer over a
T shirt for a casual look or smarten up with a classic
polo or
shirt and
trousers.
The soft, warm wool is great for snuggling too, making it a great choice to wear to the cinema or for a sofa night in. Finally, if you're hoping the night goes well and want to make sure you see them again, use your Merc Sonar scarf as a date prop - after all, lending it to your sweetheart (or 'accidentally' leaving it at theirs - a classic move...) means it's almost guaranteed. Smooth.

Drapers report preview Merc's A/W12 collection
Through the office post box this morning popped this weeks
Drapers Report, a very exciting issue featuring Menswear A/W12 previews from a range of many great brands. Nestled in amongst the previews we found ours! Talking about our next autumn/ winter collection is Head of design, Eunju MacMahon.
"Design We've mixed current and upcoming trends with vintage clothing to create styles that are unique and modern, while paying homage to our mod roots. There's alot of excitement around our pea coat, waxed parka, and the updated duffle coat, and we're sure our brushed-cotton shirts will also be popular.
Fabrics Our outerwear will feature waxed cotton while knitwear will include cashmere and angora mixed wool, which feels luxurious to touch. In addition to this we've added wonderful textures to the collection in the shape of denim-effect jersey and brushed-cotton.
Prices The quality of fabrics this season is based on feedback from our customers, and i'm delighted to say that, through great sourcing efforts, we are able to offer great pricing for our autumn 12 collections."
The Merc team have worked incredibly hard on the up and coming collections and we are all extremely proud and excited for what's to come in 2012.
